28.03.2024. 20th anniversary smoking ban . 20th Anniversary - Ireland Smoking Ban. Smoking rates are down from 27% in 2004 to 18% since then, with 800,000 fewer smokers today, and 74 countries have followed Ireland’s example and banned smoking indoors.
